Local projects taking root

Janesville Foundation investments are all around us. From smaller projects such as the local segment of the Ice Age Trail to long-standing support of Rotary Botanical Gardens, the Foundation looks to grow big and small ideas in economic and community development, as well as area education and human services. Over the course of our nearly 80-year history, we’ve nurtured notable Janesville ideas and projects. We've supported many organizations, including:

  • Rock County Historical Society
  • Janesville Performing Arts Center
  • Hedberg Public Library
  • Janesville Innovation Center

We invite area citizens, businesses, and nonprofit groups to review our history of giving, eligibility requirements, and grant submission form.

Project Spotlight: ARISE, The Rock Renaissance

The Janesville Foundation pledged $1 million over five years to be used for priority projects within the Rock Renaissance Area Redevelopment and Implementation Strategy (ARISE) plan.

ARISE seeks to make downtown the heart of our community and a vibrant and healthy place to live, work, and visit. While preserving historical authenticity, the plan provides a framework in which to revitalize the area, inviting investment in new businesses and housing, public and event spaces, with the river as a living thread to unite multiple elements.

The Janesville Foundation has a long history with riverfront restoration and development projects, from Traxler Park to the Janesville Performing Arts Center.
